Valheim
Valheim servers support configurable world modifiers, browser visibility, crossplay, and player access lists.
Choose a Server size
Start with Small for a new world and a small crew. Consider Medium or Large as the explored world, building count, and player activity grow. Use live CPU and Memory readings in the Console to guide resizing instead of relying on a fixed player estimate.
Essential Game Settings
Choose whether to publish the server, enable crossplay, and set the World Seed. World modifiers cover combat difficulty, death penalty, resource rate, raid frequency, and portal behavior. You can also configure update checks, restart-on-empty behavior, and administrator, whitelist, and ban SteamID lists.
The password is set during creation and is required by Valheim. A world seed affects world generation and does not replace an existing world. Stop the server before changing Game Settings, select Save Settings, and start it again to apply the saved configuration.
Connect
Wait for Running, then copy the Domain Name or IP Address and Password from the
Console. In Valheim, choose Join Game > Join IP, enter ADDRESS:2456, and provide the
password. A published server can also be found by its server name. Cross-platform joining
depends on the crossplay setting and current Valheim client support.
Mods and Player Management
Valheim does not currently have a Mods blade or Player Management blade. Use its administrator, whitelist, and ban-list settings for the access controls currently exposed in the Console.
