Choosing a Region

The region is where your game server runs. Choose for the players' locations as well as the configurations and prices available there.

Choose for your player group

Start with a region near most players, or a central location for a geographically spread group. Shorter network distance often helps latency, but routing and each player's connection also matter; the nearest region does not guarantee a particular ping.

The wizard may preselect a nearby eligible region. Review that suggestion rather than assuming it is the best choice for everyone.

Compare available configurations

  1. Select Region in the creation wizard.
  2. Review the available Server tier and Server size choices.
  3. Compare CPU, memory, and the hourly rate before continuing.

Not every region offers every tier or size. If your preferred combination is unavailable, compare another suitable nearby region or another configuration. Use the current list rather than an older screenshot or saved price.

Change the region later

Use Server Settings to select another available region. Applying a change to a Running server restarts it and disconnects players; a change saved while Stopped applies on the next start. The new region can also change the hourly rate.

Review Server Settings for billing and confirmation steps. After the move, reopen Overview and use the current connection details. If players still have trouble joining, follow connection troubleshooting rather than repeatedly moving the server.
