Connecting & Inviting Players
Open the server's Overview to find its current connection details. The exact address, port, password use, and joining method depend on the game.
Wait for Running
Players can connect only while the server is Running. Starting means the game is still being prepared; Stopping, Stopped, Deleting, and Error are not connectable states.
After the status first becomes Running, some games need a short additional load before they accept a connection or appear in a server browser. If the first attempt fails, wait briefly and try again before changing settings.
Use the game's connection method
Depending on the game, connect with one of these methods:
- Enter the displayed address and port in a direct-connect or Join by IP screen.
- Search for the configured server name in the game's server browser.
- Use the game-specific joining flow described in its game guide.
Copy the connection details exactly as shown on Overview. If the server was stopped and started again, reopen Overview before reconnecting so you use the current details.
Invite players
Send players the game connection details and any game password they need. A Roles & Sharing link is not required for ordinary gameplay; it grants Console access and management permissions.
If a password or player limit was changed in Game Settings, make sure the server has been started with those saved settings before testing the new value.
If players cannot join
- Confirm the status is Running and wait for any final game load.
- Recopy the address and port from Overview.
- Confirm the correct game password and connection method.
- Check whether the game is already at its configured player limit.
- Follow I Can't Connect to My Server.
