I Can't Connect to My Server
Use these checks when the server appears online but a player cannot join.
Symptom: the address does not respond
Open the server in Console and confirm its status is Running. Players cannot connect while it is Stopped, Starting, Stopping, or Error.
If the server has only just changed to Running, wait briefly for the game to finish loading and try again. Do not repeatedly restart it while it is still completing a start.
Check the connection details
Copy the current connection address from the server overview. Then compare your method with the game configuration guide:
- Use the correct game port when a separate port is shown.
- Enter the address in the documented direct-connect field or server browser.
- Remove spaces or punctuation added when the address was copied into chat.
- If you recently changed region, Server tier, or Server size, use the current address shown after the change completed.
Symptom: the game rejects the player
Check the current server password in Game Settings and enter it exactly as saved. If only one player is affected, the owner should also check Player Management for a ban and remove it when appropriate.
If settings were changed recently, wait until the server is Running after the required restart.
Symptom: the server is missing from a browser list
Refresh the game's server list and try its documented direct-connect method. Browser listings can take longer to update than direct connection. Filters for name, password, version, or mods can also hide a server that is otherwise available.
Next action
Try from a second player or network to distinguish an individual game-client problem from a server problem. If nobody can connect while the server remains Running, note the game, connection method, time of the attempt, and any exact in-game error, then contact Support.
See Connecting and Inviting Players for normal connection steps.
