My Server Won't Start

Use the exact server status to choose the next check. Do not repeatedly press Start or Restart while an operation is already in progress.

Symptom: Start is blocked or the server remains Stopped

Check the owner's Credit Balance against the displayed hourly rate. Creating or starting a server requires enough credit for one full hour upfront. Top up, return to Console, and select Start.

If this is a shared server, the owner's balance pays for the start. Your own Credit Balance does not fund someone else's server.

Also check Roles & Sharing. A shared member needs a role that includes start and stop permission.

Symptom: the server remains Starting

A new server or a changed configuration can take time to become ready. Keep the page open or return to it later and wait for the status to change. A game can require additional loading time after the status first reaches Running.

If Starting does not change after a reasonable wait, note the status message and review the Activity Log. Avoid applying another Server tier, Server size, settings, or mods change until the current operation finishes.

Symptom: the server reaches Error

Read the status message and the latest Activity Log entry. Then check what changed immediately before the failure:

  • In Game Settings, correct invalid values or restore the last known working choices and save.
  • In Mods, remove the most recent additions, verify any required fields, and use Save & Restart when offered.
  • In Server Settings, confirm the selected region, Server tier, and Server size are still shown as available.

After making one correction, try Restart once. Changing several things at once makes the cause harder to identify.

Symptom: Auto-start did not start it

Check Automation, including active day, time, timezone, and whether Auto-start is enabled. Also verify that the owner's Credit Balance was sufficient at the scheduled time. A failed or skipped occurrence is not retried later; start manually after correcting the cause.

Next action

If the server repeatedly returns to Error with enough credit and the last working settings, stop changing it and contact Support. Include the server name, game, approximate start time, status message, and relevant Activity Log details.
