Rust

Rust servers support configurable worlds, population limits, gameplay rules, Player Management, and server-side extension settings.

Choose a Server size

Start with Small for testing or a low-population server. Consider Medium or Large for more players, a larger world, or higher gather and activity levels. Rust performance varies with map and entity growth, so use the live CPU and Memory readings in the Console as your guide.

Essential Game Settings

Set the Server Description, tags, website and banner details, World Size, World Seed, Max Players, tickrate, update branch, PvE mode, building stability, crafting behavior, gather rate, and decay scale. An Install Oxide / uMod toggle is also available for server-side extension compatibility, but the Console does not currently provide a general plugin installer.

World size and seed apply when generating a world and do not reshape an existing map. Stop the server before changing Game Settings, select Save Settings, and start it again to apply the saved configuration.

Connect

Wait for Running, then copy the Domain Name or IP Address from the Console. Find the server in Rust's community browser, or press F1 and enter client.connect ADDRESS:28015.

Player Management and Mods

Player Management is available while the server is running. It can show connected players and offers the moderation, administrator, and broadcast actions supported by Rust.

Rust does not currently have a Mods blade. The Oxide / uMod setting does not add a browser-based plugin upload or plugin-management workflow.
