Deleting a Server

Delete a server only when it and its save data are no longer needed. Deletion is permanent and is different from stopping.

Stop or delete

Action Server and save data Hourly billing Can return later?
Stop Preserved Paused after shutdown completes Yes, press Start.
Delete Server Permanently removed Ends with the server No.

If the goal is to pause spending, troubleshoot an Error, or keep a world for later, use Stop.

Before deleting

  • Wait for another lifecycle or configuration operation to finish.
  • Tell connected players that the server will be removed.
  • Use the game's own export or backup feature if available and you need an independent copy.
  • Review members, schedules, and anything else that will disappear with the server.

The Console does not provide a self-service restore for a deleted server.

Delete the server

  1. Open the server from your Console.
  2. Choose Delete Server.
  3. Read the confirmation and confirm permanent deletion.
  4. Wait while the status is Deleting.

Deletion requires the delete-server permission. The built-in Administrator role does not include it; the Owner has it, and a custom role may have it if the owner deliberately granted it.

What is permanently removed

Completed deletion removes the live server, its save data, Game Settings, Mods selection, Player Management ban list, Roles & Sharing access, and Automation rules. Members lose access and the server no longer appears in their Console.

Historical account reporting may still show charges from the time the server existed. Deleting a server does not refund earlier hourly charges or erase completed billing history.
