Starting, Stopping, and Restarting

Use Start, Stop, and Restart from the Console or the server's Overview. These actions require the Start/Stop permission on a shared server.

Start a stopped server

Press Start to move the server from Stopped to Starting. If it has time left in its Banked Hour, that time resumes without a new charge. Otherwise, one full hour is charged to the owner's balance before startup begins.

If the owner does not have enough credits, startup does not begin and the server remains Stopped. Top up the owner's balance and try again.

The server changes to Running after startup completes. Connection details and live metrics then update on Overview.

Stop and pause billing

Press Stop to begin a graceful shutdown. The status changes to Stopping while the game finishes shutting down and its save data is preserved. When the status reaches Stopped:

  • Hourly billing is paused.
  • The unused part of the current paid hour is frozen as Banked Hour.
  • The Current Session stops increasing.
  • The completed session is included in Total Uptime.

Stopping does not delete the server. Start it later to continue with the preserved server and save data.

Restart a running server

Restart relaunches a Running server without creating a separate stop-and-start billing cycle. Players are disconnected while the game restarts. Use it when a setting or mod change requires a restart, or when directed by troubleshooting guidance.

Wait for transitions to finish

Starting, Stopping, and Deleting are lifecycle transitions. Controls that would conflict with the current operation are locked until it finishes. Avoid sending the same action repeatedly; follow the status and message on Overview instead.
