My Save Data Is Missing or Outdated
Use these checks when a world, character, or configuration appears older than expected after a start.
Symptom: the server started with missing or outdated progress
Stop the server before making further changes. Repeated play, saves, restarts, or configuration changes can replace the state you are trying to identify.
Then check:
- You opened the correct server in Console.
- The game client joined the expected world, map, save slot, or shard.
- The Activity Log shows the expected recent stop, start, and settings changes.
- Game Settings still show the world or save selection you intended.
- Any required mods are still listed in Mods and the server completed the required restart.
What stop and restart preserve
Stopping and restarting are designed to preserve supported games' current save data. A stop caused by low Credit Balance also keeps the server so it can be started after a top-up. This is routine save preservation, not a promise that historical save versions are retained.
What Console can recover
Console does not currently provide a self-service save download, historical-version list, or restore button. Do not expect an earlier save to reappear by repeatedly restarting the server.
Use the game's own export or backup tools when available. Keep separate backups for worlds you cannot afford to lose.
Deletion is different
Delete Server permanently removes the server and its save data. There is no guaranteed retention period or recovery window after deletion. If you only want to pause billing, select Stop instead.
Next action
If the server has not been deleted, leave it stopped and contact Support promptly. Provide the server name, game, last time the expected save was seen, the first time the problem appeared, and relevant Activity Log times. Support can investigate available current state but cannot promise that an older version can be recovered.
