Save Data and Backups
Use Stop, not deletion, when you want to return to the same world later. Normal shutdown preserves the game's save data for the next start, but a failed save or backup needs attention.
Stop and return to a world
- Let players finish their session, then select Stop on the server page.
- Wait until the status reaches Stopped.
- Check Activity Log for any save or backup warning.
- When ready to return, select Start, wait for Running, and verify the expected world and recent progress in the game.
While Stopped, hourly billing is paused and unused paid time is held for that server. Starting uses banked time or the owner's credits. An enabled Auto-start schedule can start it again, so disable that action if you want the server to remain stopped.
An insufficient-credit shutdown uses the normal stop process. Do not assume recent progress was preserved if a separate save warning appears.
Settings, mods, and restarts
Normal restarts and hosting changes are intended to preserve saves. However, changing a world option or removing a mod can change how a saved world loads. A setting for new-world generation does not necessarily modify an existing save.
Read the game guide before changing world or content settings. After a restart, verify the world rather than relying only on the Running status.
Backup and recovery limits
The Console has no self-service save download, import, or restore control, and no customer restore-point selector. Do not assume normal save preservation is an independent backup you can download or roll back yourself.
If the game offers an export feature accessible to you, keep an independent copy of important data. Availability depends on the game; this guide does not imply that the Console provides it.
If progress is missing, a world looks new, or backup did not complete, avoid deletion, repeated restarts, and further world changes. Follow save-data troubleshooting and contact support with the game, last known good session, and warning time. Recovery is not guaranteed.
Deletion is permanent
Deleting the server removes its save data and cannot be undone through the Console. Stop it instead if you only want to pause spending.
