Don't Starve Together
Don't Starve Together supports a shared survival world with separate Overworld and Caves settings and Steam Workshop mods.
Choose a Server size
Start with Small for a typical unmodded group. Consider Medium or Large when you add many mods, increase the player limit, or build a long-running world with more activity. Watch the live CPU and Memory readings in the Console after major changes.
Essential Game Settings
Choose the Game Mode, Max Players, PvP, pause-when-empty, and vote-kick behavior. A Cluster Token from your Klei account is required for public listing. The Overworld and Caves sections let you tune seasons, world size, weather, resources, creatures, and threats.
World-generation settings primarily affect a newly generated world. Do not assume changing them will rebuild terrain that already exists.
Stop the server before changing Game Settings. Select Save Settings, then start it again to apply the saved configuration.
Connect
For a publicly listed server, open Browse Games in Don't Starve Together and search for the
server name. After the server reaches Running, the Console also shows its Domain Name,
IP Address, and Password. Direct connection uses ADDRESS:10999 when needed.
Mods
Use the Mods blade to search for Steam Workshop mods and select the ones for this server. Mod files are prepared when the server starts. If the server is running when you save changes, confirm Save & Restart; connected players will be disconnected.
Every player should use a compatible game version and mod set. Add mods gradually, especially on an established world, and consider a larger Server size if resource use increases.
Player Management
Don't Starve Together does not currently have a Player Management blade. In-game and game-configured options such as vote kick remain available.
