Quick Start: Your First Server
Follow these steps to create and connect to your first game server.
Before you start
- Sign in and create your account.
- Check that your Credit Balance can cover at least the first hour.
- Review the game's configuration guide if it needs information from your game account.
Create the server
- Open Games and select a game.
- Review the game information, then continue to Basics.
- Enter a server name and optional password.
- Choose a region near the players who will use the server.
- Choose a Server tier and Server size. Review the displayed hourly rate.
- In Config, set the available game options and select Mods when supported.
- In Review, check the configuration and hourly rate, then create the server.
The first hour is charged upfront. If your Credit Balance is too low, the server is still added to your Console but remains Stopped. Buy Credits and select Start when you are ready.
Wait for Running
Open the server from Console. Its status changes as it is prepared. Wait until the status is Running before trying to connect.
The page updates the status, player count, CPU use, and memory use while you are viewing it. Do not refresh or create another server just because preparation takes a few minutes.
Connect and play
When the server is Running, use the connection address shown in Overview. Follow Connecting and Inviting Players for game-specific connection guidance.
Stop when finished
Select Stop when nobody needs the server. Billing pauses after the server stops, and its remaining Banked Hour is saved for the next start.
See Starting, Stopping, and Restarting for the available controls.
