Connecting & Inviting Players

Use the game's joining flow and the current details on the server page to connect. Console access and permission to play are separate; a player does not need a management role just to join.

Before connecting

Have the correct game client, any required compatible mods, and the game password if one is used. Ask the owner for these details if you do not have Console access.

Check that the server is Running. Starting is not ready to join, and Stopped has no active game session. A game may still need a little extra load time after Running first appears.

Find and use connection details

  1. Open the server from Console and view Overview or the connection area near the top.
  2. Use Copy beside the relevant address or domain. If the game needs a port, use the one shown or specified in its game guide; do not assume every game uses the same port.
  3. Open the game and follow its joining method:
    • Direct connect or Join by IP for games that support it.
    • Server-name search in the game's browser where required.
    • The specific flow in the game guide.
  4. Enter the game password if prompted and confirm you reach the expected server or world.

After a stop/start or region change, reread the server page rather than relying on an old IP. A server's display name and an existing world's searchable name may differ for some games.

Invite players without sharing management access

Send the game name, joining method, current address or search name, and password only to the intended players. Do not send a Roles & Sharing link unless they also need Console access.

Saved password or player-limit changes must be applied through the game's settings workflow before you test them. See Game Settings. The owner pays for the server while it runs, even when no players are connected.

If players cannot join

Check Running status, game/client versions, mods, current address and port, password, and the configured player limit. Wait briefly for final startup before changing settings.

Follow I Can't Connect to My Server if the problem continues. When requesting help, provide the game, joining method, and error text, not passwords or share links. Do not delete the world to troubleshoot a connection.
