Stopping Pauses Billing
Stop a server when you finish playing to pause hosting charges and keep unused prepaid time for another session.
Before you stop
Sign in as the owner, or use access that permits stopping the server. Let players know they will be disconnected and allow the game to save progress. Closing the game or browser is not the same as stopping hosting.
Stop and verify
- Open Console, then the server you want to stop.
- Review Banked Hour in Overview if you want to note the remaining prepaid time.
- Select Stop and follow any confirmation shown.
- Wait until the status becomes Stopped. Do not treat a submitted request or Stopping status as proof that the server is fully offline.
Once stopped, billing is paused and the remaining prepaid time is held for that server. Review any configured automation if you want it to stay stopped rather than start on a schedule.
What you keep
The unused portion of the paid hour stays as Banked Hour. It is not returned to Credit Balance, paid out, or shared with other servers.
For example, stopping with about 40 minutes left saves that time for the same server's next session. Stopping is not deletion; deleting a server is a separate permanent action.
Start another session
- Check your balance and the server's current hourly rate.
- Select Start when you are ready.
- Wait for Running before trying to connect.
With prepaid time and an unchanged rate, the server resumes that time. If no prepaid time remains, your wallet must cover a full hour. Configuration changes may require an additional charge; review Server Settings first.
If stopping does not finish
Refresh the server page and read its status or error message. Avoid repeatedly sending conflicting start and stop requests. Follow starting and stopping help, or contact support@hourlygameserver.com with the server name and time of the stop request. Use Cost & Usage to identify any disputed charge.
