Deleting a Server

Delete only when neither the server nor its world is needed again. Delete Server is permanent; it is not a way to pause billing or repair an Error.

Stop or delete

  • Stop preserves the server for a later Start, normally preserving saves and pausing hourly billing. Disable any future Auto-start if you want it to remain stopped.
  • Delete Server removes the server and its save data permanently. You cannot return to it through the Console afterward.

If uncertain, follow Starting and Stopping instead of deleting.

Before deleting

You need the Delete Server permission. Owner has it; the built-in Administrator role does not. A custom role can have it, so review access carefully.

Tell connected players and anyone who uses the server. Review the world, members, and schedules that will be lost. If the game offers an accessible export feature and you need a copy, obtain it before deletion. The Console has no self-service save export or deleted-server restore control.

Wait for other lifecycle operations to finish. If you are investigating missing progress or a save warning, contact support before deleting; recovery is not promised.

Delete the server

  1. Open the correct server from Console.
  2. Open Server Settings and find Delete Server in the danger zone. It may also appear in the server's three-dot action menu.
  3. Select Delete Server, read the confirmation, and verify the server name.
  4. Confirm with Delete Server only when ready for permanent removal.
  5. Wait while the status is Deleting, then check that it no longer appears in Console.

Do not confuse this with Remove on a shared server card. Remove leaves a shared server; it does not delete the owner's server.

What happens afterward

Completed deletion removes the server, saves, game configuration, mod selection, recorded bans, role access, and automation rules. Members lose access. Previous account billing records may remain; deleting does not refund earlier hourly charges.

If deletion does not complete, do not repeatedly submit the action. Report the displayed status and time through the available support channel. Do not create another server expecting it to restore the deleted world.
